Sensei Robert D. Smith (BOB) was born in April 1966, in the city Gary, Indiana.
In 1984 he began his studies in martial arts at the local Bujinkan Dojo. He later moved to Kenmore, Washington where he enrolled and studied 14 years more at the Kogen Dojo, a branch dojo of the Genbukan Ninpo Bugei.
He has studied under both Ninpo Organizations Genbukan and Bujinkan, receiving the most extensive training and licensing while training at one of the branch dojo’s of Genbukan (Kogen Dojo). In the spring of 2004, his Instructor Sensei Corder broke all ties with the Genbukan and Tanemura Sensei, and started his own Ninpo system of martial art training. The new name for the school was Kogen Ninpo Dojo.
This was not an easy decision to make for Sensei Tracy Corder, for he himself has trained 15 years with the Genbukan. Sensei Smith has received permission to teach as an Instructor (Dojo-Cho) of the KOGEN NINPO DOJO under Sensei Tracy Corder Kancho.
Sensei Smith has twenty plus years of training under his belt and is proud to teach in the Washington state area. His goal is to teach traditional Ninpo to all that wish to learn about the many facets it has to offer, and the life changing experiences.
At the Kenmore school you will learn self defense, traditional weapons of the Ninja, and spiritual enlightenment. If you are interested in private training, and want to start your training in a tradition that has been preserved for over 900 years.
